Instagram Stories for Business?

Much like Snapchat, Instagram stories allow you to share a quick video or photo only to have it vanish after 24 hours. Most people ask, what's the point? With so much content to share, it's a great way for "over-sharers" to give their followers or fans a quick update on things that might not be important enough to make a proper, permanent post about.

It's also a great way for businesses to do the same. Most businesses struggle to be exciting on social media, and Instagram stories are a great way to rewire our idea that businesses should always be asking for something. Obviously, sales are the goal. Businesses want followers to click the post and go to their website. What too many businesses miss out on is the opportunity to give information.  Giving followers information builds a relationship.

Information can come in the form of a fun fact, or even something as simple as an exciting event at the office. Take Best Health Physio's family of turkeys for example. While not relevant to physiotherapy at all, posting about the turkeys gives followers a glimpse behind the scenes and something to enjoy. Visit Kingston also makes great use of Instagram stories by sharing fun facts about Kingston.
